I wish this was me. I've given up on requesting my rare fandoms in those trope-specific exchanges for that same reason.

DC I think it's clear? They can't get a match in smaller exchanges. Probably no one to write for.

Write something bigger, request only small things: you will get a small thing fic.

Maybe they don't have bigger things to offer, or they're tired of lingering on the pinch hit list because even when people know their fandoms, the same people don't like their tropes.

Okay, that makes sense. I just didn't understand the "for that same reason" part because nothing in my comment (the one they replied to) suggested anything like that.

The "same reason" is "the exchange scene is more scattered than it was 10 years ago"
