How's your assignment... compared to other assignments you could have received?

actually I lucked out, I was planning on writing a treat for my recip so I'm cruising!

It went from 'pretty ok, i think' to 'thank fuck I got this one'. I switched out my offers at the last minute and I am very glad I did so.

There was one other possibility I would've loved being matched on, but I think I both got lucky and also successfully considered my offers beforehand (i.e. only offered canons I really wanted to write). There were a few I was thinking of offering, and seeing the requests, I'm glad I didn't because I would've been left floundering.

Of the eight assignments I could have received: two of them (including the one I ended up with!) are great, five of them are workable, and one of them is a bullet I'm very grateful to have dodged.

It looks like all the other requesters in the fandom I'm writing for really want to read the kind of fic I'm giving my recip, so that's exciting!

i'm honestly kind of amused because all of the requests for my assignment's fandom all want the same thing with very similar prompts, and the rest of my offers apparently didn't match up with the requested characters for those fandoms.

There were only two people I could write for. I got the one that I didn't know existed. I kind of wish I got the other one, not because my assignment is bad in any way, but just because that one would have been much easier to write to my satisfaction in the timeframe I have.

It's not ideal, as I cannot give my recip their very clear heart's desire. There were three requests that were arguably better on that regard.
However, I did dodge two bulllets, one with zero optional details, and one with only general likes and DNWs where one of the DNWs fits very poorly with the requested characters. It wouldn't be insurmountable, but it has made me scrap my plans to look into treating whoever it was that requested that fandom.

Had four possible matchable assignments: two that are decent, including the one I got, one that would've been great, and one I would've hated. so, happy enough to have ended up in the mid range!

I had pretty good odds, since two out of three possibilities were visible and looked great, and luckily I matched to one of those. Looking at the hidden third, it's not a nightmare but I'm still relieved I didn't get it. A few vague uninspiring prompts and a placeholder letter (which judging by past years won't actually add much when it does arrive), but also reasonable DNWs and clear permission to go outside the prompts and write whatever. Could have made it work, glad that I don't have to.

I was going to say I caught a bullet, because all the other requests in the fandom I matched on are so much better than what I got.

But I just found a request in another fandom I offered that's literally three words, and one of them is 'DNW'.

So I guess I'm in the middle!

I like it, and since it's likely the last year this fandom will be eligible for Yuletide, I'm happy to have one last go at writing it. Not the current hyperfixation I was hoping to write for, but maybe I'll treat if the season doesn't get too overwhelming for me.

My assignment is fine, but there are a few I could've matched to that I really wish I got. Perhaps treats will be made if I have time.

Dodged three bullets. My assignment isn't great but it's good enough. There were also five better ones I could have matched on, but I'm fine with how it worked out.

Pretty good! Towards the top, really. My recip seems a little bit picky, but nothing I can't handle, and it's a fandom and pairing I've really wanted to write. I didn't game beyond not offering many fandoms, so I lucked out.

I was matchable to 10 requests. One misuses Any; one dnws my OTP; one has weird vibes; and one comes from a famously wanky individual. The other six seem perfectly fine. My assignment is the best in the lot.

There were only 3 assignments I could have gotten based on my offers, and the one I got is probably my safest bet as a formal assignment. I put the other 2 on my potential treat list, though. :)

It's not the worse one I've received (that was the one where the recipient requested "all" and their brief prompt was not only for characters not nominated but for RPF on top of it), but it's not great. All the other requests in the fandom have at least some prompts or likes, and my assignment doesn't. I can work with a bare bones sign-up, but it's not what I hoped to see.
