for those opting into it, how often have you got smut written for you in yuletide? if you give both smutty and non-smutty prompts, how often does your writer opt for the non-smut?

i'm always happy to receive smut and include smutty likes. but most exchange authors tend to err on the side of caution with g or t rated fic. i think unless it's a smut-focused exchange, there's always a risk in writing something smutty that might not land or even offend the recip.

Just the gifts from the last 10 years, 14 have been smutty, 9 weren't.

I've received smut almost every year I've asked for it. My writers have always stuck to my prompts, which doesn't happen nearly as often for non-smutty prompts, so I choose to interpret this as me having a real knack for coming up with sexy ideas!

I almost always have smut in my requests (not the only thing, but I'll prompt for it) but the only times I've gotten it was from Monsterfucking fandoms. God bless you, Monsterfuckers.

Based on the similar thread in the last post, I kind of suspect the key is to put in very specific smut likes, like specific acts and kinks, rather than just an opt-in and prompts with openings for porn scenarios. Unfortunately, my favorite specific sex things are "whatever the characters find hottest in the moment" and my least favorite porn is when I can tell it shoehorns in specific acts/kinks to meet a prompt, but you can't include 'in character' in your smut prompts either. And also I just don't have the cojones to put a list of very specific sex things that get me off on my journal linked to my main many-decades pseud that can be seen by God and everybody and half my family knows about at this point. Also I tend to request like childhood-favorite fandoms of the kind where porn is a pretty serious swerve from canon. So I will probably continue to not get porn.

I've gotten smut once out of six YT gifts. I only opt into smut in... call it half the fandoms I request, typically? So that seems like a pretty reasonable proportion. (I always offer some non-smutty prompts, regardless of whether I'd also appreciate porn.)
