I seriously hope she's lying about her wordcount.

Imagine being the poor recip and feeling like you have to read over 10,000 words of drivel. I feel like their Christmas would be ruined.

Whatever. They're getting longfic, whereas a lot of us are sitting here with minimum wordcount gifts.

I'd rather get a decent short fic rather than a crap longfic that's a chore to sit through and read.

I don't even think there's anything to discuss about this? If you'd rather get 10k of fishspeakers' fic than 1k of good fic, don't sign up for Yuletide.

I doubt they write in my fandoms, so it's not a situation I have to worry about, but your assumption is that the minimum word count fic is good, and very often that's not the case. And I'd sure rather have ten times the minimum of whatever quality than minimum word count fic someone dashed off.

Anyone minimum's wordcount fic would be better than her fic.

This is FS and I claim my 5 pounds.

Evidence: OTT putting down of FS fic as "the worst ever omg pay attention to me look at me I'm unique" in an exchange that annually has colossal wanks and/or staggeringly WTF fic instead of fic that wouldn't have generated any comment at all had it not been for the self-trolling surrounding it consisting of... OTT putting herself down.

I’m sure it is but it also seems like it’s time to just stop talking about her, especially in an anon space where it’s impossible to tell if she’s popping up and stirring the pot. The only person actually getting harmed at this point is her recipient, and even then only potentially (maybe they’ll like their gift!), so there’s not much more to get from this situation except “avoid this person at all costs if they show up again in namespace.”

I agree. Can we please admit that we're beating a dead horse at this point, and it's only giving her more attention?
