What I'm getting from all the discussion above is that something is perhaps sus with at least one FFA mod if they were not only freezing but actively screening nonnies identifying that fishspeakers was self-trolling.

That doesn't seem sus to me. If someone *did* want to troll someone else and ruin their BFE reputation, making them look like they were trolling themselves on anon memes would be one way to do it. It would've been right to screen it if it wasn't true, and the mods presumably didn't know it was true.

Not really. The general policy is to freeze targeted wank like that especially after some BFE anons bullied lady_katana out of fandom. Some people really do have dedicated haters, and threads they troll bring zero value to meme while being a pain to babysit. It's different when it's someone like flamethrower (racist grifter in SW and HP fandoms) or Winterfox (ultrarich wanker who's spent decades targeting vulnerable people and harassing everyone she sees as a threat to her Most Important Asian Voice In SF persona). Threads about NNFs who look like someone has a personal grudge against them are going to be frozen and screened.

She wrote a lot of treats that often didn't actually match what people wanted, but in a cheerful, careless sort of way rather than a deliberately DNW-edging way. Some people stoked each other's irritation with her, because she was incredibly hard to avoid, and then there were long threads on ffa about how terrible she was. She eventually found out (possibly someone linked her to the threads) and deleted everything. Some people's reaction was very gloating.

You know, you can always not look at a hate thread that someone has linked you to.

It wasn't so much "stoking irritation" as people just complaining and then finding each other, because she was impossible to avoid, yeah, which was really aggravating after a while. And she did it for a long time! It was mostly people just venting, and then a couple of whiteknighting types kept saying it was "bullying."

Yes, this. If nonnies actually had started trolling her in namespace or encouraging each other to do that then it would be different, but wasn't it all just venting? I admit I wasn't following every BFE thread at the time and may have missed some of it, especially if the mods shut it down, but that's the impression I got.

I don't know it meets the definition of bullying, but it felt vicious at times to me, and I didn't like L_K. I wished someone had taken her aside and said directly that she needed to pay more attention to prompts if she wanted her work to be received warmly.

Also after that one creepy stalker who was obsessed with a regular BFE-er and their friend. I don't want to look up their names, to let the two of 'em have some peace, but it was gross and horrible for a while.

I think someone linked her to a vent thread and she took it badly. Somehow this became "BFE drove her out of fandom" despite there being no evidence that the (singular) troll in question was even a regular nonny, because it's not like people don't hateread FFA.

It wasn't an obvious singular troll. There were a lot of people talking about how she was the absolute worst, which, hardly. I agree with your first sentence, but it's weird to me that you're claiming that it was only one nonny! and probably not even an nonny!

Exactly what happened. A handful of BFE nonnies were absolute assholes about her, from her writing to her signups to picking over her commenting habits. (She wrote 3-4 sentence comments, and got accused of copying and pasting them until other nonnies copied them and showed they weren't.) It was super bitchy behavior and they kept getting told by other nonnies they were being shitty, and they kept doubling down, no, she's the worst, for hundreds of comments across multiple posts. Someone must have told her, probably one of the same assholes while pretending to be her friend, and she deleted.

It was vile, it was bullying, and everyone who joined in on the dogpile deserves to feel like utter shit about themselves every time they think about signing up for an exchange.

I think it's just that she ruined a lot of people's exchanges. Usually when you write badfic, one or two people vent about you, but when you write A LOT OF badfic, it makes sense that there's a hell of a lot more complaints. If your solution is "you're not allowed to vent if other people are also venting because that's dogpile and bullying", it's a shitty solution.

Don't use protonvpn US 155031 on ffa or they will lose their marbles and screech that you're a known troll who must be frozen on sight. Especially if you're using it while pointing out that they're screening and freezing things that don't need to be modded...
