And another one!
I see my nemesis getting a fic that I love
And I'm like, "Fuck you"
I guess my 10k letter wasn't enough
I'm like, "Fuck you and fuck morbane, too"
Said, "If I was a long commenter, they woulda gamed for me"
Ha, now ain't that some shit?
(Ain't that some shit?)
And although there's pain in my chest
I still comment it's the best
And runs to coal to shout "Fuck you"

(Anonymous) 2023-12-23 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)All the stuff people commonly do to lower expectations on their fic and make themselves feel better if readers don’t respond to it (“I wrote this in class” “not beta read we die like men” “lol I wrote this high” “I don’t really know the show but I wrote this anyway!”) all come across really rudely when they’re attached to a gift. If someone handed you a knitted gift and said “sorry I’m a terrible knitter and I know it’s bad,” you would then have to say “no, it looks great, you’re really good!” out of politeness. Those kind of tags/notes make it all about the author and it’s not fair to the recipient.

(Anonymous) 2023-12-23 06:08 pm (UTC)(link)Yeah, exactly. I feel about "I wrote this on mushrooms" exactly the same as about "I wrote this in class".
