I would not write RPF for someone who’s asked for a song, not even a music video, and hasn’t mentioned any feelings about RPF. Plus you could make it f/f anyway?

That's fair. It doesn't have to be about Stevie Nicks/Christine McVie. It could be about any two completely different ladies in a band who are both breaking up with the dudes also in the band (and may or may not have slept with each others' husbands) writing a song together about looming dissolution and the ties that bind anyway and then, y'know, banging furiously.

I guess? But I don't think people asking for songs generally want a story about The Process Of Writing The Song, any more than people asking for a TV series want a story about the writer's room.

Yes, this is definitely opt in. I would have liked that sort of meta storytelling but I would also have explictly asked for it. Nicks/McVie coalie should just have nominated Fleetwood Mac RPF. They've been in Yuletide before!
