That used to be me as well but my latest rewatch made me finally warm up to the pairing. Still wouldn't ask or write fic that was all about their relationship, though.

I really liked them at first? Then it turned into an endless soap opera and I hated the double storyline and then they ruined it forever for me with the pregnancy. I was really sick of sketchy scifi pregnancies for lead women by then. I liked her again in Peacekeeper Wars but I guess I was a noromo 'scaper!

I know! There was Aeryn on Farscape, Scully on X-Files (a couple of times!), Kara on BSG, Olivia on Fringe, I forget who all else....not that all of those shows were on at the same time but it was really a terrible trope. I just felt like screaming, "Enough! Stop it with the weird babies!" And so much fucked up stuff about women being sterile, too.

Yeah, I made myself a rule around then to immediately drop a show when it introduced one of those storylines, and never regretted anything except how many damn times it went into effect!

Syd on Alias also got her ova stolen, Gwen on Torchwood got a freaky alien pregnancy...it became an instant deal-breaker for my partner and me and we quit Sleepy Hollow when there was a demon pregnancy.

I blame lazy male showrunners who think they're being progressive avoiding outright rape but can't think of anything else dramatic to do with women that's not reproductive related.

I started telling people I'd only watch a show where someone got their ova stolen if someone also got their testes stolen. They always stopped recommending TV To me after that for some reason.

X-Files did that constantly with MOTW and arc storylines, too, not just Scully. I forget if it happened on Millennium, but I feel like it must have?

NC I never really gelled with the pairing. They sucked all the oxygen out of the room when they were having their drama. Worse, lots of people like to name them as the One Good Het Pairing when they are the most bland He Was a Boy, She Was the First Human-Looking Girl He Met, Can I Make It Any More Obvious? pairing I've ever seen. It's fine. Plenty of canon het pairings are worse. Plenty more are much, much better.

Idk, my Farscape ships are like John/Chiana, Aeryn/Crais, Aeryn/D'Argo, John/D'Argo, Braca/Scorpius....there aren't a lot of us but there are people outside the John/Aeryn and John/Scorpius tankers in the shipping lanes.
