ComplicatedLight - only Mary Malone and Iorek, two characters who don't do much for me unfortunately. I like Mary but am just not interested in writing her transition from nun to scientist, sorry.

Fuchskreuzkraut - wants mostly worldbuilding, with a focus on Lee, Iorek and Serafina. "Give me some more insight into how the witches live, how they co-exist with the comparatively short-lived humans and armoured bears, how they keep up the bonds with their daemons despite being able to separate from them so easily. Perhaps you'd like to drop Iorek among the witches for some reason." Again this isn't so much a bad request as something I'd have trouble writing.

Jubileen - wants Lyra and Marisa, great prompts, very good letter -- I like her prompts for other fandoms too! -- and those are my two favorites in the whole series. Would write for this person in a heartbeat, in fact I should write them a treat anyway!

nomeancity - Worldbuilding, Will, and Mary Malone. I'm not sure why there is so much focus on worldbuilding in this fandom this year. "However, rather more than 20 years later, though I still love the story - I am really here for the worldbuilding. :D Tell me more about daemons, dear author! I want to know more about the culture surrounding them, how different people interact with their daemons, how big a deal it is when a child’s daemon settles...." Erk, no. I'm sick to death of HDM daemons. Not this person's fault, but this one rockets to the bottom.

renjutori - Serafina and Coram, no details (strike one), Tumblr letter (strike two), and the HDM section seems a lot shorter than the other ones. I'd have to canon review and see if I could get inspired by Serafina and/or Coram. "Firstly, I want to apologize for the lack of optional details and DNWs in my sign up; I hardcore procrastinated and ended up submitting at the last minute (literally) so I just linked my letter instead. Secondly, sorry if assignments go out before I finish writing this." Yikes. Don't do this, people.

thewreckofapoet - they want Lyra, Asriel, Will, and Worldbuilding. No details, but they do have a letter. "Due to life circumstances, I sadly dropped the ball this year on nominations and didn’t get to nominate any of the fandoms that I would have wanted, and I’m sadly not well-versed in a lot of the ones that have been proposed. So I’m starting off this Yuletide season a little “meh,” but I did find a couple fandoms that I was willing to write and request fic for." Hoo boy. "God, I just want a world where Lyra and Will end up together or end up being able to walk through universes to be with each other. And where Lord Asriel lets Lyra know, in no uncertain terms, that he’s proud of her. (Note: I haven’t read The Book of Dust.) Or a fic about them thinking of/pining for each other; that’s cool too." I find both these ideas truly unappealing. Sorry man, you go to the bottom with the daemon requester.

honestly, what’s the difference between finishing your letter late and having a placeholder (like morbane lol)? basically the same thing. i find both annoying though
