And another one!

I see my nemesis getting a fic that I love
And I'm like, "Fuck you"
I guess my 10k letter wasn't enough
I'm like, "Fuck you and fuck morbane, too"
Said, "If I was a long commenter, they woulda gamed for me"
Ha, now ain't that some shit?
(Ain't that some shit?)
And although there's pain in my chest
I still comment it's the best
And runs to coal to shout "Fuck you"

If you don't want your favorite characters high, you should DNW it. No one is going to infer this preference from the legality of weed in the country that you're from, especially since they almost certainly don't know where you're from.

I DNW them if drugs appear in the canon. I don't DNW them if they don't appear, because to me it'd be a completely random thing to write. I can't possibly DNW every single thing someone may think to include.

I DNW drugs even if they don't appear in canon, because I got a gift that was 1000 words of the characters smoking and thinking about how wonderful it was.

Sometimes DNWs are a series of autopsies of terrible gifts.

These kinds of horror stories underline why I actually don’t bother with very in depth DNW other than things I think a good author might include if they didn’t know specifically that I didn’t like them; usually someone dumb enough to write a Yuletide story with something really bad wouldn’t have written a good story even if I had very strict guidelines excluding weird kinks or whatever.

Much like the DNW iambic pentameter, which had not occurred to me as something likely to happen.

CYRT

Oh no, I'm sorry this happened to you. The canon I'm probably going to get this Yuletide takes place in a period where people didn't smoke, and I DNW AUs, so I should be safe.

people have been using cannabis for the last 3000 years in known record

Not where the canon takes place.
