You'd be surprised how many exchange mods are on coal. I'm an exchange mod! Ok once for a very small exchange 5+ years ago but I can definitely speak authoritatively from experience.

That Lies of P request has lived rent free in my head since it was first brought up on coal, "I haven't played the game, no spoilers please!" -- I legit hate it so much, and I'd just do something nasty like post a heavily redacted gamefaqs walkthrough, but I would LOVE to see someone tackle it sincerely.

That happened to me once, but I forwarded the email to the mods without reading it and tried to pretend it hadn't happened. I didn't manage to and tbh it kind of ruined yuletide for me because I knew far in advance that I was matched with a n3wb who couldn't read instructions. the writing lived up to expectations unfortunately. You are a better person than I coalie.

Mine is just over the word limit and only tagged with characters - so hopefully it's dense and well-crafted, or a bus pass yet to be updated. If it's coal, eh, whatever. I'm happy with what I wrote, and there's enough else in the collection I want to read.

Same. But from what I gather, there's an assumption among certain Yuletide participants that shorter automatically means "did the bare minimum work out of disinterest."

Like, no, I was very interested, it's just the story I came up with wrapped up in ~1200 words. It's still something I worked very hard on tailoring to my recip's letter!
