Waiting to hear back from my beta. I'm starting to worry that it's going to be like the year before last, when the beta disappeared on me.

Assignment finished, beta read and posted. Made some progress on a treat that should've been a short, porny fic, but I'm 4k in and everyone is still wearing clothes...

I often start right at porn - sometimes even in the middle of porn, and circle back to make the build-up happen. It usually helps with the length if that's a concern.

Not that there's anything wrong with 4k of build-up! I personally would love that. Or clothed sex if characters just don't want to undress!

Assignment: done, not yet posted. Really proud of this one tbh.

Treat: was porned. Finally off to SPAG. I wrote this one as much for myself as for the treat recip, but it's because our id and wishes for this fandom were a super fit. They are a lovely person, too and I always find it extra motivating to write for people I genuinely like.

I must say that being stuck in bed with cold complications for days really did wonders for my yuletide output this year, lmao. I'm beyond bored with watching TV shows and it gives me laser focus on writing.

I finished my fic! It is now posted. But I will probably give it another round of editing before the collection opens.

Now I'm eyeing some of the prompts I was looking to treat. Hm, hm, hm.....

Unfortunately, the treat I'm writing is stuck at >12k, and I don't know how to fix it. (I think my best option is to focus on one element of the fic and cut the rest, but that's not so straightforward.) At this rate, I'm pessimistic about actually finishing by the 25th :(

I'm pretty invested in the concept, and I don't want to post a treat that's not as good as it could be, but I also don't want to wait for NYR or for this person to potentially request the canon next year. The canon (which I just discovered this year) has no existing AO3 fics and this person has been requesting it for a long time, and it'd be really satisfying to finally fill the request....
