To who, exactly? The Prince Andrew stan?

Yep. A lot of us have matched to people who like certain things that we're not into, maybe even find morally objectionable, because we got stuck with someone we couldn't avoid (very common in Yuletide), we only realized later that there were things to make us leery, or we're doing this in good faith and we assume our recipient does the same. It sucks but that's the risk you take in exchanges, especially the bigger ones.

So the mature choice is like what coalie above said - keep your conscience clean at the cost of forfeiting a gift or write the minimum and likely anon or orphan the gift. But expecting laudatory praise and back pats on a very public platform because you really want to share how absolutely terrible your recipient is and no one should ever think that the reason you wrote for them was because you support them (which you clearly do unless you make it very obvious to everyone that you find them or their ilk to be horrible) is an asshole move.

I hope their next Yuletide writer drags them in public.

Ironically, if they had shared how absolutely terrible their recip was very publically here, everyone would've enjoyed the wank as long as they kept themselves anonymous.

They actually apparently did in an earlier thread.

They almost certainly did, there's a thread a couple posts back where someone whines that their recip writes romance fic about a rapist.

Coal told them, predictably, to either default or suck it up and write something anyway. Also that if the worst thing about their recip is that they have other ships you don't like, they could do a lot worse. Notably, Coal did not at any point tell them to publicly whine about it in namespace.

(Relevant to the discussions in that thread about "why/how would you do that" recip seems to write almost exclusively alternate history AUs in which all the shit that's gone down with the Windsors in the past four decades happened very differently.)

I just can't see it being like, that big an issue. Like I don't really feel bad for anyone here, but it's hard to see what's so terrible about the duck person venting.

Venting to friends is normal. Dragging your recip's taste in public is tacky, and continuing to defend that is wanky.

Recip can cry into their cheese fries about it, idk.

Their Pizza Express, surely?
