Or anywhere else than AO3. I always compose comments in a text file unless they're like one line. Old habit from when you could regularly expect blogs and so forth to eat your comments.

I wrote mine out in a notes app, proof-read, posted, and still had to go back and edit multiple times! Maybe some of us are just cursed?

I am this but with replying to comments as the author. My sympathies, coalie! Commmenting is just hard, idk why.

I sometimes write my AO3 comments as comments on a private Dreamwidth post just so I can use the preview feature.

If I use tags for italics or anything else in my comment, I always paste them in here before posting:

It prevents mistyping a closing tag and have half the thing in italics, or italics on my comments instead of quotes. Really handy!
