Reading Your Author's Mind

Your author just opened their assignment email and realize it's yours.

What do you hope...

...is the fandom they matched on?
...they think of your prompts?

I hope they matched on the currently airing canon that just dropped a banger of an installment today. It perfectly gave additional context/flavor to my prompts so c'mon author! Write me 5 different fics, they all will be great!!!

- Honestly can't pick, I'm excited about each of the fandoms I requested for different reasons!

- Mostly I hope they don't mind the ludicrously long letter, and stick to just the stuff that was in my signup if that's what they want to do. When I'm drafting my letter, I can't shut up, and yet the moment assignments go out, I'm drowning in self-consciousness about how stupid I probably sound in it. /o\

- Excited for all of them
- Would be insanely excited if they want to write my weird, totally optional crossovers
- Just generally excited HELLO AUTHOR

Well, even if your author isn't going for it, I've already got an outline to treat SOMEONE's weird, totally optional crossover. Maybe it's yours!

I hope they matched on the ones I am not writing for my assignment! Of those, I have no preference.

I also hope they find my prompts inspiring and take me at my ODAO disclaimer word. (I am a pretty easy to please recipient. You wrote me a thing? I am pleased!)

I'm requesting a very specific ship I've never seen anyone else mention for a relatively uncommon canon, so I hope they're thinking "I hadn't considered this but you're right, nonnie, it's hot. Let's go."

I know I'm the only offerer for one of them, and that I'm one of 2 offerers for another, so it's most likely fandom A which had a pretty high offer:request ratio. I feel like I ship a minor juggernaut in that fandom, and that I ship it in a way that's very iddy to me but less thematically in tune with the canon. I'm always worried people judge me for that even though I've never seen anyone say bad things about me for it? (my fics never get recced tho, which, fair enough, if it's not an exchange I'm writing For Me). But I left options outside the juggernaut and outside my kink likes, so I think they should have something good to work with!

I got way more specific with my prompts than I usually do, so I hope whatever they matched on, they vibe with my ideas.

I'm not feeling especially invested in any of my requests at the moment. I just chose stuff I wouldn't be too disappointed by.

My number one hope is that my author have lots of fun and an easy time writing my gift, so that I can leech a little off their enthusiasm.

I hope I get someone who wants to write me the awful dead dove porn of my dreams - or at least they don't get put off by it being in the request covered in 'you don't have to do this if it's not your thing' disclaimers

I hope they matched on the fandom that had multiple offers for my one request! I hope my reading of canon resonates with theirs.

They're not MY fucking author. They're the fic's.

Sincere question, you seem to feel strongly about this distinction. Why?

Not OP, but I kinda don't like the "my author" thing because they're not permanently writing for me. Next exchange they will probably be writing for someone else.

Well, a couple of my fandoms had zero offers - I'd be shocked and delighted if they matched on either of those. Of the fandoms that did have offers, I'd be equally pleased to get any of them, and I tried to give several prompts, so hopefully at least one of them interesting.

they hope I finish my letter and expand on my preferences.

Which I've done already; I just need to get off work and hit post.

I hope they matched on the same fandom I matched on and that they read my first prompt (first for this fandom but also the first in my heart) and think it's an interesting idea and write it.

I pretty much want all my fandoms equally, but if they matched on the one where I'd really like to get smut, I hope they are excited about my porn likes and eager to write me some sex magic.

1. Any of them. All my fandoms are awesome.

2. That the prompts get to the core of what's great about the canon and inspire fanfic that they'll like writing.
