DC Ehhhhhh. Depends on what the work was.

If it was closely sticking to the recip's prompts and they had requested polyvangelism (or whatever), it's totally fine. But given that "I hope you enjoyed writing this" as a comment is the kiss of death from a recip who hated their gift, "I enjoyed writing this" could come across as pretty pass-agg in a situation where the author ignored all the prompts/likes/ships/etc. and wrote what they wanted to instead.

What?? That’s a kiss of death? I feel like if someone said something along the lines of “I hope you enjoyed writing this as much as I enjoyed reading this”—-is that still kiss of death? Idk I think it’s kind of nice that the recipient would think of the writer? Idk? Idk I guess if the comment is JUST “I hope you enjoyed writing this” then yeah maybe but I don’t think it’s any good to cause paranoia for every phrase that could easily be interpreted in bad faith.
