Re: YuleSwaps!!

My bookswap sender emailed me with questions, I replied the next day, I haven't heard back to confirm that they got it or anything.

My bookswap recipient replied to my email saying they were swamped with RL and would get back to me in a few days.

So I'm just waiting, for now.

Wait...am I supposed to email back to confirm that I got their email? Is that expected?

That's not how I would normally conduct email, so I would never do that here.

When someone sends you their part of a project, you don't even reply with "Got it, thanks! I'll work on this and let you know if I have questions," or something like that?

I think I did ask if they had any further questions or things they wanted to know, so I'd at least like to know that they didn't. Or if they send me an email when they ship the books instead, that's fine. Just some indication that they didn't fall down a hole and I can indeed look forward to books soon.

I mean, it really depends, but in this case: I sent them an email with a question, they answered the question. The swapper sending books to me sent me an email with a few questions, I answered the questions. I feel like anything else that isn't reaching out with specific questions would be superfluous?

*shrugs* "Sounds good, thanks!" is really easy to send, and then you don't leave the other person hanging. There's a whole checkbox in the Swaps check-in form for if the correspondence with your sender is "all set," and to me it isn't if I reply and never hear from them again.
