How would you know which are treats? Are you required to tag treats in those exchanges? I love this rule.

Personally I think that's just good form all around. There's no reason the recip shouldn't know which is which, even in the case of a treat becoming the main gift. I think it would lessen the sting of "someone defaulted on me" knowing that somewhere, someone else went out of their way to write me a story without even the pressure of it being a pinch hit.

Not to take anything away from pinch hitters who are also angels.

DC I always tag my treats as such, mostly because I don't want to step on the toes of the actual assigned writer.

Something I don't think has been mentioned yet is that sometimes a person will have two gifts, but both are assignments. People get double-assigned all the time.

Then you have assigned writers who are peeved at "that annoying treat writer who didn't tag and now they look like THEY were my recip's assignment", when maybe they were an assignment too!

I have at most two recips who are double-assigned in each exchange and half the time, one of those writers defaults. It's usually the treaters.

Aren't there as many double-assigned people as there are initial pinch hits? This is usually a lot more than two!
