OP here to inform you motherfuckers that it's not apologism, it's apologia

Also double line breaks between paragraphs. Does anyone have css to collapse those dudes using a site skin?

Would a script work?

I use the 'ao3 tweak formatting' script which is at https://greasyfork.org/en/users/36620 and can do lots of stuff - remove line breaks, insert line breaks, change *word* to word and other things. So useful!

Meanwhile, I could eat them all up with a spoon. Give me all the porn clichés, please!

How does one write smut without the cliches though

It's "by accident", not "on accident".

It's a regionalism, prescriptivist coalie.

Sorry to say, this one is a regionalism.

"by accident" sounds wrong. Pretty much everyone I interact with uses "on accident" both in speech and in writing, why would I use the weird sounding version when there's a perfectly good normal sounding version right there? It's not like "could of" where it really is grammatically incorrect, it's a difference in word choice for a phrase.

make do not make due
A person may is a dominant not amdominate
Clothes not cloths for things people wear

I just want someone to have a discrete affair that's actually discrete.

When you're betaing and the person starts to work in the Google doc resolving your comments at the same time and you both are therefore playing Moving Carpet Tango with the text

This is sort of the opposite, but I'm old enough that I learned to type on a typewriter, so I automatically hit the space bar twice after every sentence. I've had betas go through and remove. Every. Double. Space.

In a 10k story.

By hand.

Mixing up lose and loose. It's less anger and more that I wind up dissolving into laughter every time some character winds up loosing their mind.

"Would of," "could of," and "should of" make me want to throw things. It's "would have," "could have," and "should have." (Or "would've/could've/should've," which is where the original confusion comes from, I guess. :P)

He smelt of old, soft leather, tobacco smoke, apricots, and something that was uniquely himself.

Or insert your favorite example of the above.

I'm sooo over it. It was cute the first 100 times, ngl, but now it's booooring.

Can’t stand it when something was written on google docs and it has that gdocs-to-AO3 problem where any bold or italicized word has a space inserted after it.
