Way better for them to make a potentially redundant post than for us all having to deal with a 24h waiting period as the most ask for calcifications and the rest of the tagset is put on a halt as a result.

LOL, that has never happened. The mosts are asking for calcifications now, during the time in the schedule specifically set aside for it. They're not about to push back sign-ups for a day like in your scenario.
