The Coalies Are Back In Town

Friday night they'll be dressed to kill
Down at Coaltide Bar'n'Grill
The receipts will flow and wank will spill
And if the coalies wanna fight, you better let 'em
That jukebox in the corner blastin' out my favorite song
The nights are getting longer, it won't be long
Won't be long 'til Yuletide comes
Now that the coalies are here again

You sholdn't be. RPF-adjacent fandoms aren't ever that big on FFnet. It and Inception were one of the last big LJ fandoms. A lot of the fic written for TSN wasn't imported over to AO3 and even more that were once on AO3 have been deleted if a sampling of my bookmarks circa 2011-2016 are any indication.

Think of all the older, flash in a pan popular fandoms that would become small if FFnet got taken down for good. That's basically what happened to TSN and other LJ fandoms. There may have been 9k fics at one time but the majority of them have been purged and lost to time. There are a lot of fandoms from the webring days and that once had single archives that are Yuletide eligible because all those fics are gone.

The connection with Inception is part of the reason I keep thinking it must be ineligible, actually. Because they happened around the same time, and Inception on AO3 took off, the link is in my brain like oh yeah, these two fandoms that were both incredibly popular at the same time must both be ineligible.
