The Coalies Are Back In Town

Friday night they'll be dressed to kill
Down at Coaltide Bar'n'Grill
The receipts will flow and wank will spill
And if the coalies wanna fight, you better let 'em
That jukebox in the corner blastin' out my favorite song
The nights are getting longer, it won't be long
Won't be long 'til Yuletide comes
Now that the coalies are here again

DA

Yeah, it looks like the equivalent of, say, Matt the Radar Technician/Domhnall Gleeson's character from Peter Rabbit, or Doctor Strange/Bilbo.

From the twitter thread linked in the evidence post (and my negative knowledge of any of these canons), the pairings do seem to match general era or tone at least? So like, Richard Armitage from Ocean's 8 and Martin Freeman from Love Actually. Or Richard Armitage from North & South and Martin Freeman from that one Sherlock special they did in the bookverse era.

Are they planning to request the individual pairings as "characters"?
Is there a fixed canon or are they always adding more pairings? Who decides who's in? Can a specific character played by Zhang Zhehan be paired only with a specific character played by Gong Jun?

I have so many questions.

with no knowledge of the fandom whatsoever, that post definitely made it seem like the ships are set in stone and not to be rearranged.
