+1 I like FFA, but I do think modding has become quite heavy-handed in recent years.

And I'm also beyond annoyed at nonnies who mod-call for mods to "watch this thread". Like, you whiny, wishy-washy, lily-livered crybaby, either properly mod-call something if you think it's mod-call worthy or fuck off. Wtf is this nonsense?

I kinda get the latter. Sometimes a thread isn't, say, downright transphobic but you can tell the seeds are there.

But yeah, modding's got kinda intense lately. I don't know if there's a new mod who's excited about freezing anything that gets modcalled or what. I still don't get why the classic HP copypasta was frozen the other day (or why nonnies modcalled it when it's been posted a bunch of times?). And other stuff. If they don't at least say "hey, this was started by a known troll, so we're freezing it," then it gets confusing.

It's also kinda hilarious to me that they killed the stupid "has covid ruined sickfic" thread when they let the dog stuff go on and ON last post. At lest the sickfic one was about fandom!

I mostly use FFA to actually talk about fandoms and I've never had problems with the mods. With some exceptions, freezing mostly seems to happen with 1) blatant trolling, 2) repetitive wank that has been going on for 300+ comments, 3) some kinds of shitposting, though admittedly I wish more shitposting was frozen, not less.
