A list that I've added to: "homophobia (but always in a negative light), racism, colonialism (the main theme of these books), sexism, misogynistic comments, talk of genital mutilation, torture, murder, death (and to lgbt characters), some gore/body horror, animal deaths, graphic violence, loss of a loved one, inhumane conditioning treatments, off-screen rape and forced reproduction, non-consensual medical procedures, abortion, child abuse/conditioning, drug use/alcoholism, constant war themes, cancer, and a pandemic in books 2/3."

Or, if you can think of it, it probably features, but they are really very good books if you can stomach them.

I hate this idea. It shouldn't be a rule. If someone hasn't requested the fandom for Yuletide, don't give it to them in Yuletide. If you must write it, just give it to them outside of Yuletide, or heaven forbid, post it as a normal fic in the fandom.

Giving someone an unrequested fandom in Yuletide just ends up feeling like a desperate grab for more hits.

SFF, historical, horror, crime, basically anything that's not a straight drama. Comedy's borderline for me depending on how heightened the reality is.

Three of the 9 Star Wars Visions episodes had female heroes. Of those episodes, the only one to make it in to Yuletide is the one with the rabbit girl.

If you are the type to trawl through the tag set noting any fandoms you might plausibly be interested in treating or requesting, how long is your list of possible interests? (you can include the ones that aren't "maybe" but "hell yeah", also...)

I think that could be really interesting though! A lot was going on with that town, outside of the play's characters. And, like, there are other fictional series that would be completely eligible for Yuletide that deal with 9/11 way more directly.

Looks like the game has some HP characters peripherally, but it's mainly about an all-new player character interacting with game-only characters with a plot separate from the main series.
