Yeah, and I do, but I like getting prompts from other people to inspire me, especially when I've been writing in the same fandom for years and used up most of my own ideas. Plus it's always nice to have a (theoretically) guaranteed readership of at least one person rather than punting things out into a dead fandom and waiting to see if someone eventually notices them in a couple of months. Rather than sign up for exchanges I mostly just scour all the requests looking for prompts in my fandoms to treat, but they're very thin on the ground outside of Yuletide.
