I have outlines for three fics (two f/f, one gen), sort of outlines for two more (both het, one a not asked for crossover that fits their requests in both fandoms but which I would ask mods about before posting), and a vague idea for a fic I would probably have to Madness because it would be a bit too meta, since it would be presented as a conversation with the "mods" about how my story doesn't include a character "I" would be insisting is a conspiracy theory that never existed. I have not actually written a word of any of these. How are you doing, coalies?
Exchange culture has always been a very specific segment of fic writing that tends to be populated by older fans, especially ones on the more m/m side of things. Yuletide, if anything, has always stood out because it has a big group of people for whom Yuletide is their only exchange. Writing fic for someone else at random is hard! Also, it's still the biggest exchange by a long shot. Doesn't the second biggest exchange have only a third of the participants of Yuletide?
My assignment draft has now hit 4K. Shits going to get real.
I have two treats planned but at this point I don’t know if I will have time to canon review plus write them since my holiday plans have now been finalized and I doubt I’ll be able to write much.
I finally have an idea of what my actual plot is going to be and have started to scribble some notes for an outline! Currently doing way too much historical research for what is an extremely silly canon that doesn't care very much about historical accuracy.
I made a tentative writing schedule and reviewed one canon. I should start in on my original assignment next week, and then I'll start the pinch hit I picked up when I either want a break from the first one or have finished it. That's pretty ahead of the game for me.
Were you referring to people in this thread or talking a different person? I'm the one who first used A/B/O up there, I specifically write it that way to make it look less like that other word, but if people still find that problematic, I am not particularly attached to this spelling either!
I think the thing is the slashes don't really do much because it doesn't exactly stop the word from jumping out at people regardless. Compare, say, F/U/C/K.
Do Not Match requests. Apparently a thing in other smaller exchanges, where you can ask the mods to specifically avoid matching you with certain people.
