Saw someone requesting "any" in a fandom with two nominated characters, and then only giving prompts for one. AND the canon is a romcom, with only the two main characters nominated, and they've asked for gen.
They could have just...requested the one character they wanted? And asked for fic exploring her life outside the main romance of the film? I might have written that.
For the first time ever this early, I have a plot with a beginning, middle, and end. And about 500 words on paper. Now for the real challenge: can I write the damn thing?
In order: - Sierra - Hell yeah I'll write Alan/Ian. Those are some good likes that fit them well, too. - reeby10 - I just don't feel fannish about any of these characters. Maybe something funky and weirdly structured about Clever Girl? But this is not speaking to me. - Untherius - LOL no.
Re: Preference Rating Game - True Detective: Night Country
Got briefly excited seeing one of my fandoms have an unexpected request only to deflate at the total lack of prompts plus the confusing DNWs. Oh well, maybe next year.
1. Sierra. Looks like our tastes match pretty well, and while this isn't my favourite ship for this fandom I could definitely write it. Simple and straightforward enough. 2. reeby10. Nah. I'm not feeling it, none of her requests spark joy for me. Never saw vegan food and eating disorders in a fanfic likes list before; I wouldn't know what to write for half of the things on that list. 3. Untherius. yeah not in a million years
1. maevedarcy. Open-ended enough but clear about what they like, which is also what I like. An enthusiastic and endearing first-timer. 2. alchemise. Excellent prompts and intriguing ideas, very clear formatting. 3. Nestra. Only one prompt but I like it and could definitely write it. 4. GoggledMonkey. Wants my OT3. Easy-peasy. 5. becomingabeing. See above, but with slightly less detail. 6. Beatrice_Otter. Eh. A lot of detail, but none of it really sparks for me. Doable, if this was my assignment. 7. withinmelove. Short and scarce on prompts; did not really need a letter. I'm not feeling the combination of characters either so would probably pass 8. Siremele. Wants to break up my OT3. Nopety nope, even if their other prompts are okay. 9. Onomatopoetikon. No details, no letter. Nothing really to work on, even if they did choose some good characters to request. 10. NarielAlan. No details, no letter, no characters requested. Some people love a totally open field like this but it doesn't work for me, especially for treat-writing. 11. ShadedTopaz. No details at all; the letter has details on other fandoms but not this one. Can't even figure out what they might want based on the characters they've requested. Boooo. I've had this happen to me before and it's irritating as hell. No treats for you.
