Morbane's coal

In quantum wankchanics, Morbane's coal is a thought experiment, sometimes described as a paradox, of quantum wankerposition. In the thought experiment, a hypothetical gift may be considered simultaneously both the fic of your dreams (TFOYD) and coal, while it is unread state, as a result of its fate being linked to a random subatomic event that may or may not occur.

The Coaltide interpretation implies that, after a while, the gift is simultaneously TFOYD and coal. Yet, when a coalie clicks on their gift, the coalie sees the gift either TFOYD or coal, not both TFOYD and coal. This poses the question of when exactly quantum wankerposition ends and reality resolves into one possibility or the other.

CYRT

Honestly yeah, after reading some other replies I’m starting to think we take it *more* seriously than Americans!

DC: I mean yeah, I'm from a country that's had one (1) in the past 30 years to which the universal response was to do absolutely everything humanly possible to make sure it never happened again.

I believe they mean they don't believe people when they say they reject fics they hate, and even if it were true, that's those people's problem and they DGAF.

I think the first have of the statement is a bit crazy because it's not like they can't see gifts getting rejected, but I approve of them minding their own business rather than kicking up a fuss.

I’m sure that most families with school-aged kids take it deadly serious with the touch of graveyard humor, but the lobbyists and lawmakers sure don’t.

It's one of those things where in the US you can't afford to take it as seriously as you should or you'll never leave the house again. So you cope.

We're at the point where someone can survive one mass shooting incident and end up in another one at a completely different location. We're probably not that far from the survivors of those shootings having kids who are also on site for school shootings. So yeah, those of us who can't make our government fucking do something about it have resorted to Vantablack humor.

We had equal amounts of earthquake preparedness drills and school shooting drills, so it is just a distinct possibility in our lives and you just need to try to get through the day. And I would absolutely never write fic about it.
