coaltide | Morbane's coal

In quantum wankchanics, Morbane's coal is a thought experiment, sometimes described as a paradox, of quantum wankerposition. In the thought experiment, a hypothetical gift may be considered simultaneously both the fic of your dreams (TFOYD) and coal, while it is unread state, as a result of its fate being linked to a random subatomic event that may or may not occur.

The Coaltide interpretation implies that, after a while, the gift is simultaneously TFOYD and coal. Yet, when a coalie clicks on their gift, the coalie sees the gift either TFOYD or coal, not both TFOYD and coal. This poses the question of when exactly quantum wankerposition ends and reality resolves into one possibility or the other.

I think for me, the asides are fine and fit the canon, but they just aren't fun or funny and aren't adding anything.

Yeah, it's a perfectly fine concept. It's a little clunky. Not really a contender for terrible fic IMHO.

Now this on the other hand:

All of my clothing has turned to butter-soft black leather. A stiffened bodice leaves my shoulders bare and gloves come up past my elbows. A slightly-flaring skirt ends just below my knees and boots rise past its hem. I wobble slightly on heels nearly a handspan high.

“Whose idea was this?”

“Yours,” she says.

I eye her. “Your interpretation is...interesting,” I say.,

“Oh, this will be the fashion someday.”

“Surely, you jest.”

“Perhaps not the, erm, whole thing. But the heels, certainly.”

I look sharply at her. “But the heels are the worst part.”

“Women of the future will wear them.”

“What?!”

She nods.

“Every day?”

“Most women on most days.”

“Voluntarily?”

She nods again.

“Blood and ashes!” I snort. “Then women of the future are mad.”

It's barely a story and pretty terrible.

It didn't dewclaws a Disney character though so I can see why some people might like it.

Huh, why am I only just now realizing that Untherius’s thing about dewclaws and his thing about high heels are probably actually the same Thing?

GDI, that insight is not what I wanted for Xmas.

He has a thing about high heels??!! It doesn’t really matter but dear God, someone probably thought a fic I wrote was written by him at some point, based on the fandom and…something of that.
