Morbane's coal

In quantum wankchanics, Morbane's coal is a thought experiment, sometimes described as a paradox, of quantum wankerposition. In the thought experiment, a hypothetical gift may be considered simultaneously both the fic of your dreams (TFOYD) and coal, while it is unread state, as a result of its fate being linked to a random subatomic event that may or may not occur.

The Coaltide interpretation implies that, after a while, the gift is simultaneously TFOYD and coal. Yet, when a coalie clicks on their gift, the coalie sees the gift either TFOYD or coal, not both TFOYD and coal. This poses the question of when exactly quantum wankerposition ends and reality resolves into one possibility or the other.

I always forget about this dead period in between the "collection just opened" rush and the "try to finish reading things before the anon period is over" rush. I'm still in stat-refreshing mode but the stats aren't moving any more.

Much appreciated.

time for the big question: did you like it?

Does anyone ever really "like" untherius fic aside from rubbernecking and popcorn?

(Anonymous) 2023-12-28 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)
None of the other requesters in my treat recip's fandom have interacted with my fic, so I feel better about not having treated any of them. >_>

Has he done Wolpertingers before, or are those a new one for him?

If you actually are the recip, I'm sorry he once again played his "get as close to your DNWs as he can without actually hitting them" game.

Looking through the main collection in various ways, One Piece Live Action (OPLA) has:
- 7 works on the first page when sorting by kudos
- 6 works on the first page when sorting by hits
- 6 works on the first page when sorting by bookmarks
- Nothing on the first page when sorting by comments. Most-commented OPLA work has 10 comments, half of which are the creator’s replies.

One OPLA work in particular has the top kudos and hits in the collection (about 1309 hits, 205 kudos). This same work also has 22 bookmarks (tied for second with an Ateez music video fic when sorted by bookmarks. Most bookmarks goes to a Goncharov work with 33 bookmarks.)

Aww, I'm sorry you lost that perfect line of 1-1-1! It is indeed very pleasing.

Does a nearly 25 year old manga count as classic? Antique Bakery, banter and fake dating in what feels like a lost manga chapter.

I would love a rec for something relaxing from an older (meaning pre-2003) canon. Any kind of pairing or no pairing.

I left some effusive non-recip comments yesterday! Maybe it was me. :)

Sad +1. At least the "finish reading things" period is on the weekend this year? Hopefully we'll get a big rush.

Tennessee Williams is that you?

I love you, coalie.

Me, I did. It's so good. Perhaps my most ideal Yuletide gift I've received.

Asking the important questions: Did he have a knot, though?

Re: Vague about bad fics in the collection

(Anonymous) 2023-12-28 06:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope. I just read it, the tone and humor level and quality was decent, not superlative but readable and better than 3/4 of the perfectly adequate Yuletide gifts I've received over the years. It had a fully Addamsish-but-ott-nice tone that exactly suited it.
