not that coalie but like one of the other coalies said, i personally go there to keep up with what exchange is happening when and what pinch hits might need picking up that they can write. i did start trying to talk about my fandoms in some of the other threads but either got crickets or got some totally asshole comments from anons who seemed to like to shit on my faves for no reason.

Amen to this. I can't stand that place anymore, since a lot of the nonnies I used to talk about my fandoms over there to seem to have lost interest or don't go on meme now. FFA is toxic AF. Immature obsession with sex - and I say this as someone who enjoys writing and reading smutty fic. Health concern trolling that is really body shaming in disguise. And the assumption that everybody there is a cis woman really was the last straw for me.

A lot of stuff. Just about every post title is a stupid innuendo, or someone is going hurr hurr hurr smex in the comments in response to something perfectly innocent, or only talking about how hot their blorbo is and not about the other great things about their blorbo. Once, I was having a nice fannish discussion about something not related to smut or shipping and someone jumps in with a smutty headcanon and hey presto, the whole damn thread got hijacked with kink. When I hadn't even wanted to discuss kink. I have nothing against discussing kink, and have done so myself, but that thread was for a favorite gen scenario.
