I dreamed someone went out to ph with a request for Anderssen's little mermaid and the mods had to clarify "dont pick it up if youre only going to write for the disney movie or another adaptation." I thought about claiming it but i was like...i need to finish my current PH first.

Anybody else's subconscious prompting for them?

It doesn't break anonymity to let the recip know that two fics are by the same anonymous author. You don't have to do it, but you absolutely can if you want! I would like it if they were my gifts, because I wouldn't need to give any thought to making sure that my comments for two different authors felt equal.

I wrote a start of romance road trip for two minor characters, and then when I went back to triple check the DNWs, I found that while they had asked for each of those things, they had done so in completely separate prompts and, in the romance case, for a completely different fandom. I'll maybe throw it in Yuletide Madness for them anyway, because they don't seem actively against shipping the two minor characters, they asked separately for road trip fic, and they seem open to romance generally, but wtf, brain? Everything in one letter is not one giant prompt!

My main story ended up 7.3k. The pinch hit I'm working on is 2.7k and counting at the moment. It will probably end up about 5k, but who knows? I'm pretty satisfied with how things are going. Definitely my most productive Yuletide in the last few years.

I think we can all agree the author should not write a tooth getting cracked on the piercing, because that's a direct DNW violation. However, a tongue piercing on its own doesn't violate the DNW at all. This is like saying if someone DNWs tooth harm, then the author should never ever write their characters in a fistfight, or falling off a horse/tree/staircase, or any number of other things that could cause trauma to teeth (and honestly would be more likely to than a tongue piercing, come on).

Coming full circle is my secret trick, whether thematically or plot-wise or in terms of imagery or whatever. If I can't figure out an ending, that's what I do. Sometimes I will even adjust the beginning so the circle is, uh, more circular.
