And another one!

I see my nemesis getting a fic that I love
And I'm like, "Fuck you"
I guess my 10k letter wasn't enough
I'm like, "Fuck you and fuck morbane, too"
Said, "If I was a long commenter, they woulda gamed for me"
Ha, now ain't that some shit?
(Ain't that some shit?)
And although there's pain in my chest
I still comment it's the best
And runs to coal to shout "Fuck you"

Oh, it's definitely worth reading in a generous light, pre-reveals, rather than getting too suspicious of. But idk, I wouldn't use the public-facing tags on a work as notes to self.

Still waiting. I can't stop myself from checking everyday even though I know most gifts appear close to the deadline.

As a tag wrangler who gets to see them all, I can assure you that most people don't think of the tags on non-public works as public-facing. (It's not where I would leave notes to self. But I also wouldn't compose directly in the AO3 form with no other copy saved anywhere, so)

I think there’s a clear difference between a draft and an unrevealed work posted to a collection.

Sure, but most people don't actually know you can see the tags on unrevealed works.

i think that's mostly cos of bfe. i've seen sandrine's requests sneered at for being atg for a hero/villain ship just cos sandrine doesn't ask for dark fucky noncon. sandrine has perfectly good ships and prompts but bfe won't pick em up.

ayrt That could work! Not Space Orcs from a McMansion POV, but McMansions from a Space Orc pov. If that's what it is I'm still a bit befuddled at the prompter acting like everyone would know exactly what they meant though.

I've worked out that when people say bfe they mean fail_fandomanon somehow, but what is "atg"?

"Any Two Guys". It's usually used in a negative way to refer to OOC ship fic where the characters could be anyone. It's the kind of story where it looks like someone wrote a generic thing and put the right names later.

Yeah, I'm still hoping someone shows up with links because this is still just me stabbing in the dark! (like a roomba with a knife attached)

Huh. Hero/Villain is usually one of most popular pairings in every fandom, though.

Nonnie, that makes no sense.

No one thinks the requests are ATG, and she does request dark noncon for some ships. Apart from Slade/Dick, the ships are just not exchange popular so the pool of pinch hitters is somewhat limited.

+1

I haven't seen anyone sneering at her requests, what are you talking about?

(BTW she's claimed now)

DC

I think coalie above me might have been referring to this old FFA thread, although Sandrine isn't mentioned by name.

https://fail-fandomanon.dreamwidth.org/599927.html?thread=3676284279#cmt367

But I agree with the coalie who said her lingering is more likely to be due to exchange-unpopular fandoms. I have a similar problem with my fandoms, which is why I rarely do exchanges outside of Yuletide.

The ATG Brock Rumlow person referred to there is kalika_999, I'm pretty sure. I don't think that was about Sandrine at all.

Re: Fic in a Box PHs

(Anonymous) 2023-11-29 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
Who is kalika_999? Never heard of them.

Re: Fic in a Box PHs

(Anonymous) 2023-11-29 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
cyrt

They request Jack Rollins/Brock Rumlow pretty often, and they tend to ask for various kinds of AUs and then DNW "bad guy Brock Rumlow or Jack Rollins", and open, ambiguous, hopeful-but-not-happy-for-sure, and unhappy endings. For a ship between two HYDRA operatives who are canonically villains, that rules out using most of what little MCU canon there is about either character. So if somebody was vagueing about an ATG Brock Rumlow exchange participant, I think it's a lot more likely to be them than Sandrine.

i am procrastinating

Yeah it was obvs Kalika999. They’re wanked about all the time and I’ve never seen Sandrine mentioned negatively
