Afternoon writing sprints

(Anonymous) 2019-12-17 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm pretty jazzed about the 4500 words I wrote doing this yesterday, so I'm going to try it again. Feel free to join in (please!) but doing it alone won't dissuade me!

I'm all posted, so today's deadline doesn't affect me, but the pinch hit I'm working on is due in a couple of days. The story stands at 1,096 words right now.

It's 12:45pm CST, and I intend to start at the top of the hour and write in 25-minute bursts until I have a completed draft. Back about 1:30pm to check in.

Shit, ended up writing an email instead. But it's 4 minutes to the top of the hour, so I'm starting a session now, no email or phone distractions.

It's 2:30 pm, and the pinch hit is up to 1,768. It's going well, a lot of fun, and probably around the halfway point of the story. I think I'm going to keep going and check it at 3, then take a break for food.

It's 3pm and the story is at 2,205. Taking a break, probably an hour or so, for food things.

Great work, coalie! RL has been a complete pain for me this afternoon, but it's all calmed down and I am going to write like hell to get this last scene done.

Thanks! My break ended up being 2.5 hours, oops. It's 5:28pm CST, and I'm going for another 25 minutes.

I hope you got that scene done or are getting close!

I snorfed that for various reasons (SQUIRREL!), but it's 6:15 and I'm going until 7, starting now.

Stopping for a bit at 7:30pm CST. Story's up to 2800 words. I think some will get cut in the beginning, but not much. Still probably a ways to go since the UST has just ramped up. \o/

I may write a little over the 30 mins but probably won't do another timed session until the top of the hour at 8. I need to think about what's coming up.

I just picked and pecked at the story off and on this evening instead of doing timed writing, but it stands at 3,500 words now.

I've just poured myself a lovely pint of porter from my favorite local brewery, and plan to do a solid 25-30 minutes at the top of the hour (it's 11:55 pm CST).

Anybody wants to join in, that'd be fun!

4,100 words. It's so fun to write. I should just wrap it up somehow, plonk an ending on it, but this is as much for me as the recip now. So I'mma keep going as long as it's sexy and fun.

Not waiting until the top of the hour to start again. I'm going to pour another pint and keep going as long as the words are flowing. Not much point in posting here really unless it's to squeal about the story been done, which I might do when the time comes.

Good luck to those writing! Get 'er done.
