Coalies, what's your plan for this week? Also, any weekend successes to report?

I have a simple yet daunting goal: a first draft.

Successfully started my assignment, and I'm definitely over minimum!

My plan for this week is to complete the draft, and to start the second gift I'm planning for my recip. Bonus goal: outline a couple treats and do canon review for those as needed.

My sock's assignment is done and posted, and I have 4 other fics in various stages of production \o/

Don't ask me about my main assignment. I know 4 off their fandoms and could write for 2 of them. One is a fandom where I like another letter better, so if I write the fic for my assignment then I likely won't treat that fandom/the letter with the better prompt. The other fandom I could write for doesn't have prompts that inspire me and I'm worried that I won't write them as good a fic as I could.

I'm at 3600 words for my assignment. I'm moving this week, so I don't have high hopes of getting a ton of work done, but optimistically I'll finish a first draft. (I think the fic will end up in the 6-8k range, though it may go longer -- maybe 10k?) At the very least, I want to finish canon review.

Posted my assignment and have a treat in drafts ready to go (gonna wait until they've definitely gotten another gift before posting it since I lowkey love the recip and want them to get more than one fic). This week is busy but I want to try outlining another treat, though as it will probably be mostly porn, there may not be much to actually outline...

Weekend progress: Did not work on assignment, but I've finished the canon review. Worked on a treat and it is now done except for two scenes, and stupidly long. But I'm beginning to think both will require more editing than I'd hoped.

Plan for this week: I want to finish the treat within the next day or so, and write at least 3k on my assignment--hopefully more.

I actually started brainstorming the underpinnings of my assignment this weekend (finally!) - now to canon review and do the research necessary to figure out how it all plays out, lol.

(That may sound backwards, but I find it useful to go into canon review with an idea of what I want to be keeping an eye out for during!)

Posted my assignment, and hoping to finish my assignment for another exchange due on Dec 26 today before I get started on my treats. I have 7-8 ideas for treats — a lot, I know, but they’re all going in the Madness collection and they won’t necessarily be over 1K words.

I have uploaded my assignment and one treat as drafts. They both need a bit of editing but I think I need to let them sit for a while and then come back with a fresh eye.

In the meantime, I want to get some work done on my second treat ... I'd say I have about 2/3 of a draft done so I'd love to finish the draft but feel a little stuck right now.

Assignment: 100% complete with SPAG, title, summary and tags

Treat: at 90% second draft

I realized that both share the very same conflict but as canons are wildly different in mood, the resolution and ship dynamics have a different flavor. It’s what I like to write, okay?

This is me, too ... all three of my fics are a similar relationship premise, they just develop very differently because the characters involved (and the settings) are different. I'm just assuming that no one is going to read across all those fandoms, so they won't notice ... or if they do, maybe they just like this one thing so much that they don't mind reading endless variations...

I posted a draft of my assignment that passes the bus test and reached 4k on a treat.

This week I'm hoping to finish a draft of the treat (which will probably hit 10k...).

I've been stuck on my assignment, but thankfully got around the block today and I'm about 2/3 the way through. And I'm happy that my 'procrastinating'/'researching' paid off, because I was doing quasi-related canon review that I managed to apply to my fic.

Posted my fic! Not sure about treats—nothing’s inspiring me, alas. I might move on to some non-Yuletide prompt fests.

I uploaded a treat. I sent my fic off to beta.

Might start another treat if I have time and feel well enough to do so.

Made it to 7.5K this morning! I am really hoping to finish this draft (another 2.5-5K, probably?) this weekend. Ambitious but hopefully (?) doable if I can carve out the time.

I also have one treat drafted and another mostly drafted, and a bunch of things on my maybe-treat list to try to come up with ideas for.
