I had to look what this was in response to, and now I’m wishing ChatGPT could write a decent letter for me because I absolutely loathe doing it but it’s so integral to getting treats or even just signup offers in your fandoms. But my brain treats it like a job application cover letter and runs the other way.

For what it's worth, letters are optional! If you just want to stick with the DNWs in your sign-up, then that's perfectly fine. But if you really want a letter, you could just list some tropes/kinks/things you like for your fandoms.

I know, but since I rely heavily on other people’s letters both in writing my fic and deciding what to offer, it would be hypocritical of me not to try to write one myself.

Even then, there are plenty of letters every year in the app/spreadsheet that are just a copy+paste of the signup. As long as your signup covers what it needs to, you really don't need to do anything more.
