Re: Preference rating game! - Left Hand of Darkness

I encourage you to write this Gethenian sensitivity reader fic for someone who will appreciate it!

I checked out those 3 letters for you. From my most-to-least likely to treat:

Luzula - Short letter with some interesting cultural and technological world-building prompts that explains some of what she likes about canon. Is open to a narrative or documentation-style fic. This is a great example of what the worldbuilding tag is for, and I've tagged it to potentially treat.

clachnaben - Solid likes and Dislikes section, and explained how a general DNW interacted with LHoD canon. Wrote movingly about why they love this book so much and is crystal clear in wanting a story that digs into Genly/Estraven's relationship. I'm not all that interested in writing that story as a treat, but if I were assigned them I feel like I could write something they'd enjoy.

venndai - I have a DNW concern here - seems like this is the fandom for it! The general 'unrequested focus on m/f or pregnancy' is clarified with a canon-specific DNW about the use of pronouns for Gethenians in general and Estraven in particular. That's interesting but makes me feel like venndai is looking for something very specific in the Genly/Estraven relationship that I don't quite grok. Is it PiV that I should avoid? Does venndai want Genly to experience this as a queer relationship? I just can't tell, and it makes me not want to write for them for fear I'll get it wrong. If I were assigned, I would go for the dark AU prompt and side-step any mention of sex or gender, using neutral pronouns for all Gethenians and he/she for the perverts of the Ekumen.
