Combining all, because they all have 1-2 requests only…

Bath tangle: skipping, not interested in writing for this novel

Cotillion: a one line non-promor ("please something light and fun and silly"). Guess that's great for someone who already had a whole fic planned and wants a place to stick it, but I like prompts, so no thanks.

Devil's Cub: both options are decent, but Avani's prompts spark more ideas for me than Mardia and Mardia seems very into Comyn so I'd want to include him in the fic but I'm kinda eh on him.

Hazard: don't know the canon, skip.

The masqueraders: the prompts feel very character study-like, which isn't my taste. I don't feel there's any prompts here to hang a plot on, just missing/alternate scenes.

The Nonesuch: both have requests for essentially epilogue happy couple scenes fic, which I can write but it's not my favorite. However ancarett has a letter with additional prompts, including some with nice historical context and a few cute AUs. I like the variety of options.

The quiet gentleman: haven't read

The reluctant widow: also haven't read.

These old shades: wants character studies/missing scenes, which is not my thing.

My final ranking:

1. Ancarett, on the basis of letter, not request
2. Avani
3. Mardia
4. Everyone else with a canon I know
5. The canons I don't know

I also checked out the letters, since in some cases that's where most of the prompts were. I rated the prompts (by whether they are the sort of prompt I like), and how interested they left me in writing for them (from a variable baseline of whether I liked the book/characters to start with, and whether the prompt was for something I'd like to write. Some of the lower rated ones are probably great for someone who is not me.)

DaisyNinjaGirl: clear and enthusiastic explanation of what appeals to them about the book, and a selection of intriguing prompts. Would treat.
4/5 prompts
4/5 personal interest
8/10

gracelesso: (no letter) some interesting and varied suggestions in the prompts, could have fun with this. Might treat.
3/5 prompts
4/5 personal interest
7/10

quillori: clear and enthusiastic description of what they like about the requested character. A good variety of prompts, but I think I'd be stuck for an actual plot if this were my assignment (admittedly always the thing I struggle with). Might treat.
3/5 prompts
4/5 personal interest
7/5

mardia: (Devil's Cub) wide choice of prompts, I feel I have a good sense what would be a successful gift.
4/5 prompts
3/5 personal interest
7/10

nomeancity: (request and letter the same) clear and reasonable likes and dislikes, and enough to get a feel for what they want without being overwhelmed with an endless list. Some prompts.
4/5 prompts
2/5 personal interest
6/10

mardia: (Hazard) several prompts in keeping with the short story. If I'd offered this I would probably be quite happy with them.
3/5 prompts
2/5 personal interest
5/5

betony: several straightforward prompts. If I'd offered this I would probably be quite happy with them.
3/5 prompts
2/5 personal interest
5/10

redsnake05: perfectly clear set of requests
3/5 prompts
2/5 personal interest
5/10

twisted chick: request is quick note about the type of fic requested; letter is also clear, and does offer a couple of suggestions, but I would still be left struggling to come up with a plot
2/5 prompts
2/5 personal interest
4/10

useyourtelescope: clear likes and dislikes, some prompts in request; somewhat long list of likes in letter, but better prompts.
3/5 prompts
1/5 personal interest
4/10

ancarett: reasonable prompts in line with the book (unfortunately I disliked the book!).
3/5 prompts
0/5 personal interest
3/10

luthien: ancarett: reasonable prompts in line with the book (unfortunately I disliked the book!).
3/5 prompts
0/5 personal interest
3/10

avani: wants tropey aus, racebend aus, opens the letter by calling the book problematic
2/5 prompts
0/5 personal interest
2/10
