Someone keeps requesting IF in a fandom that it would be REALLY GOOD in and I'd love to do it but I don't have the time to both learn how and do it in one YT cycle or the executive function outside the yt cycle.

I think you'd get some interest. Call it "Three Turtle Doves" and decide if you want it to be semi-opt in like Crueltide/Yuleporn of if it's like YuMaDrIn and it only exists to encourage people to write poly/tag their poly so everyone can find it.

I’m willing to revive the Make The Yuletide Gay challenge but what do coalies think would be the best way to generate and display that list? I don’t care about policing so rather than making a list of all LGBT characters/ships in the tagset, should it be like Crueltide where people “sign up” in the comments to promo their canons and then if you independently write a fic for a canon LGBT character/ship you tag it?

Definitely the latter but so many people mention canon gay in the promo post that it just seems like the promo post is doing that already.

(Saying upfront that I came up with "Three Turtle Doves" so that I don't get accused of plagiarizing myself...)

I kind of want a "...And a Partridge in a Pear Tree*" mini-challenge that focuses/hinges on Madness. You sign up by listing all the fandoms you know/like that are in the tagset but didn't have the slots (or couldn't think of enough prompts) to request this year. People who really love those fandoms and have a fic of their hearts inside them/ideas of their own can then treat you in Madness with them. Those who have one or two prompt ideas or who only have specific ship/characters they want can say, otherwise the assumed default is that you're asking for "any" since this is guaranteed to be a treat and is mainly to help out authors who desperately wished someone had requested that thing they nommed.

This is kinda dubious to me. It smacks of those people a few years ago who would put an extra request in their letter and hope to trick treaters in the letters post into writing for them in a canon they couldn't fit, or that hadn't made it into the tagset. Your intentions seem good, but I can't help but feel skeeved.

1- The name is delightful
2- If I thought this was kosher I'd sign up gladly
3- This feels... a little weird to me? I don't want to get extra gifts for myself if that means someone's browsing the requests for treats and makes one for me instead of treating that person with 3 requests of the heart that they could write for with a little more time in canon review.

Coadie, what do we need to do to get the mini-challenges added to the app once all requests go up? I'm happy to help manually gather the data but I don't know what format you need it in to load it in.
