Tumblr still exists! You can promote your fic on tumblr with all of those tags! No one's stopping you.

it's not that easy to hide with a script on phones, though, which is my primary way of reading ao3. i can hide all tags easily, which i do for scrolling reasons, but if i expand them to see what content is tagged, i get pissed off if i have to read someone's soliloquy, too.

Do you not comment until after author reveals? Otherwise how would you be able to tell what kind of participant they are?

I learned typing from Mavis Beacon in DOS, which also demanded double spaces. I still do a find replace all on double spaces because there's almost always a few that slip through

The 00s some time, I think. We no longer need the extra now that tech has improved its auto typesetting. It took a while for it to change in school and advice though.

Astolat was also like 8 months into a very difficult pregnancy and not really planning for how that would affect things and screw other people who could only do their work after a previous piece was completed.

The first few years, it was basically astolat's flist. Everyone was pretty well known in lj circles. That's why it really wasn't a default gen exchange despite how matching works.

The archive went down repeatedly every year, like people have said.

Five minute fandoms weren't typical. It was more likely to be requests for m/m of some historical novel or something. Treats weren't much of a thing until like year 3.
