How on earth do they suck up attention from recips? I understand why you'd think so for writers (though I disagree), but recips?

SA Never mind, I get it. The writers spend all their time on the treats and the recips give all their praise to the treat. Except that it's totally unreasonable to expect someone to devote all their time to a single fic in a months-long low wordcount exchange like Yuletide, and if your recip makes it obvious that they prefer a treat to your gift, either they're a shitty recip or you're a shitty writer. Either way, treats aren't the problem there.

it's clear that they're mad that people aren't like them: only know one fandom and the only fic written for it is their gift. once they read it, they leave yuletide for the year.

sorry some of us who take part in a multifandom exchange *gasp* are multifannish. even if treats were outlawed and the collection was main assignments only, if one of my other 100 fandoms gets an amazing fic, i'm going to leave a praising comment. it may be longer than what i left on my gift. it isn't my fault if you can't handle that, author. you should have written me a better gift and i would have written you a better comment!
