Everyone likes the kink in book 2 Not true, I don't! I skip past the kink scenes on reread. I do agree that that's the strongest part of the trilogy (the first part was unobjectionable but dull, the third one was actively irritating to me and made me hate Richard) and I like that there is some of the radicalism/reform angle in a Regency fiction, but I'd have rathered it without or at least with less of the kink. There's one scene in particular that edges over the roleplay line into what I read as actual noncon that goes unacknowledged, so it's not fun for me.

Sins of the Cities ranged from lack of investment to mild dislike to outright hatred for me.
