This is Yuletide, everybody make a scene

I am the sock with the tear-away face
Low-effort with your gift and gone without a trace
I am the "who" when you call, "Who does an exchange without acknowledging their gift?"
I am the wanker blowing through your fics comments
I am the coalie dragging your letter at night
Filling your exchange to the brim with fright!

This is Coaltide!

But if it was wrongful, they would wank about it, right? If TDC was banned for sending the mods death threats (via a hacker) we wouldn’t know. It would look like they sat out 2020. But TDC would probably go uhhh I was banned for something I didn’t do? at some point on Discord or their journal. (And if the bad behavior was public, then everyone would definitely know about it even if TDC didn’t wank after.)

If TDC was falsely banned and then kept quiet...does it really matter? It sounds like they either didn’t care about the exchange that much or they rebranded as elpollodiablo and kept on participating without missing a beat.

Some people would definitely kick up a stink but these people may not have wanted to incur the brain damage of trying to defend themselves, especially if OP did a damn good job on smearing them. I certainly wouldn't do so if I knew the person who'd smeared me was a mod or close to a mod even if I cared a lot about what I'd been unfairly banned from.

Someone I know got banned from a fandom space over something stupid. One of their known fandom friends who knew about it ended up saying in passing that they thought the mods were "difficult to talk to when there's a problem". This resulted in the mods, with their egos all bent out of shape, putting the person who was banned on public blast, dragging their name through the mud by accusing them of a laundry list of interconnected fandom 'crimes' which were ridiculous and did not include the reason the mods apparently used to ban the person, which was incredibly petty. Rather than go to public war against the mods, she left.
