This is Yuletide, everybody make a scene

I am the sock with the tear-away face
Low-effort with your gift and gone without a trace
I am the "who" when you call, "Who does an exchange without acknowledging their gift?"
I am the wanker blowing through your fics comments
I am the coalie dragging your letter at night
Filling your exchange to the brim with fright!

This is Coaltide!

It's a tv series done in 3 sections. Part one was a 3 ep mini series starting Jude Law, then on Saturday there was the twelve hour live performance which was to explore the world more and bridge the gap to part 3; another 3 ep series starring Naomie Harris, with the whole thing set on the same creepy island.

The live ep was done by punchdrunk, which is a theatre company who specialise in immersive productions, I was really sceptical how they'd pull it off, but it turned out great. It's a joint Sky/HBO production, and I think it was kind of amazing that they took on the risk of a single camera, single take, live outside production. Though I felt bad for Jude Law at times, cos they couldn't have predicted how bad the wrather would be and he must have been miserable

Wow, Jude Law was actually in that 12-hour ep? It doesn't look like it's available for download anywhere; can you watch the series even if you skip that episode? I'd be curious to check it out, but not if I'm going to miss a big chunk of it.

It's on Sky/HBO's Facebook pages free to watch even if you don't have an account, and Sky at least will have it up all month. In theory it was meant to be skippable, but I don't see how, there's some fairly major developments in it (also it's by far the best part of the show so far IMO. Put it on in the background, watch Jude Law suffer in real time).

This is exactly what I did, without having watched the rest of the show, even... and I loved it.
