One of the actresses who played either Lexa or Clarke went to Fear the Walking Dead, and fandom created an OC based on the other actress and started writing a ton of fic for their ship in FtWD, iirc. And then I think they tried to nominate their OC along with canon characters for Yuletide?

That was it. I remembered someone being like “they should let the OC in for representation!!!” when the show literally had a gay (bi?) black man right there. Clexa fandom is so wild lmao
