Most contemporary WWII media I've watched have been less 'guts and glory' and more 'OTT violence and nobody is heroic' or 'Seriously war sucks donkey balls. Donkey. Balls.'

I still feel kind of weird about the fact that it's a modern-ish production about WWII that seems to be all about the glory, but at least they tried to humanize the Germans a bit.


Like, I can see how that reads like "there's something wrong with media that portrays the Americans as in the right and the Germans as in the wrong." WWI this ain't.
