lady_katana annoyed people by

a) being a bad writer and

b) leaving very short, copy-pasted identical comments

both of these would have been forgivable, except

c) she made it impossible to game away from her by requesting absolutely every single pairing in her fandoms, including crack and rare pairs, without any sign that she actually cared for these pairings

this was compounded by

d) she requested a bunch of megafandoms, which had the effect of annoying more people than usual

oh, and not to forget

e) the only way to avoid her was to not request or offer the fandoms she requested, and when a lot of people drop a canon because of one person, people can't even treat better requests, because better requests don't exist

Then when people boiled over and ranted on meme, she flounced. She could just as well have reduced the number of fandoms she requests each exchange and reduced the number of pairings she requested in each fandom. Probably would have helped to leave slightly better comments too.

Let's not forget her biggest crime f), being too enthusiastic and writing too many treats.

And also the fact that the ranting about her on meme was less like venting and more like hundreds of comments about how much she sucked. It was impressive.

You're lying. It was pretty much just boiling over venting. Nobody went on and on about how she was a bad person.

There's a difference between "shitty writer" and "bad exchange participant" vs. "shitty person". The L_K wank was solely about the former.

There's no meaningful difference between "LK is a shitty writer and a bad exchange participant and should go away forever" and "LK sucks". CYRTRT didn't say they got called a bad person.

Incidentally LK DID also get called a bad person by those who thought she'd written spitefic.

Like another coalie said, I wasn’t saying that anyone said she was a bad person. But I think that a lot of the very long venting did boil down to “ugh, she sucks.” Not “ugh, she is legit a terrible person.” It’s just a quick way of saying that it was complaining about how she sucked as an exchange participant, not as a human being.

Pinch hits. They were pinch hits.

Also g) writing something that read a lot like spitefic (but may have just been extreme cluelessness) for beloved exchange mod and Good Egg tdc.

She wrote shitty pinch hits, not treats.

Both. Her writing was, for me, unreadable. But she was a nice person, came across as sweet, unintelligent and unperceptive, enthusiastic and well intentioned.

I don't think she had a clue what frustration she was causing and when she found out, she quit.

So overall very decent. Not everyone is clever.
