I really liked this Sunless Skies fic: https://archiveofourown.org/collections/yuletide2019/works/21797185 (4.7k, gen). The character voices are great, and it captures the tone of canon very well.

Can anyone explain why the first paragraphs of each section aren’t indented? Is it an HTML failure or is it aping some lit style I’m not aware of.

I hate indenting but if all the fic uses it I can deal, but this is weird.

Some people think that indenting the first paragraph (in a section) isn't necessary because the point of indentation is to make the paragraph break clear. Personally, I think if you're already inserting an extra line then it already makes the paragraph break clear...but this isn't the worst non-standard formatting I've seen.

It's a lit style, though it's been so long since my last lit class I can't remember what it's actually called. There's at least one standard format where the first paragraph of a chapter isn't indented.

I don't like indenting when there are also line breaks between the paragraphs. They serve the same purpose and doing both looks awkward to me.
