I don't think they have an actual beef. They just smelled blood in the water and went for it. There's a handful of other people they go after periodically also, and regularly get frozen for, but they never get any traction, because their ~reasons for going after those people are things like "the person ships this ship I don't like, ew." And people are less likely to take that bait.
