Instead of explaining it as 'code switching' or 'It's important to use a different set of words here because we're trying to be politically neutral', a lot of people tend to go 'If you say faggot you are committing HATE CRIMES >:CCCC no matter the context!!1111 U should NEVAR SAY IT!!!!'

Which makes it less of a 'Getting along with others' issue, and more of a 'Someone is oppressing my right to free speech' issue. When antis are also oppressing the right to write kinky porn, the two can blur.
